Topi’s remix of Oliver’s control is a futuristic, synth heavy track with a divine vibe that I absolutely love. He has paired a magnificent intro with a mind blowing progression in a 5 minute package that will make you want to play it again and again. If you were listening to music on a spaceship, this should be it… and that’s one of the reasons why I have rightfully called it Space Disco. It’s sparkling space disco goodness. Yummy.
Bombay’s Orbs & Zen(Nicky Ramnani and Ajay Makhija) have given Getting Deeper a deep, melodic disco set, perhaps the first of its kind for GD’s 61st number in the podcast series. It’s been a very long time since GD has released a podcast by someone from India, and we are happy to have finally released a set by someone from our own country after a very long time.
The set is nice and smooth, with a sinister but subtle vibe that makes it a classy figure on the dancefloor. What is great is that it still retains a deep character. It’s a perfect example of a nicely layered blend of rawness, groove and intensity. The end result is a great track selection with edgy, intoxicating melodies and warm tones that will transport you to an electric night. The image here is an open air space, deep into the night and much deeper into the music. Because if there is one thing I can guarantee you, it is that the set will definitely get more hypnotic the more you listen to it.
Thank you Nicky and Ajay! The set is absolutely banging.
Ninja Tune yesterday released a massive track called ‘Spectre Vex’ by Illum Sphere. Hypnotic synths are rapidly woven on a dark and futuristic progression that is sure to blow your minds away. You will be either very shocked or in a state of electric trance. Very, very nice. For Getting Deeper, it is definitely the biggest release of the month. Get lost in space disco heaven.
Portugal’s Moullinex released his remix of ‘The Old And The Young’ by Midlake just a day ago. Such a massive release! Space Disco is slowed down in this track to produce a timeless, deep and earthy sound. With it’s majestic progression, melodic synths and drifting vocals, you can’t help but get lost. You will be floating in another dimension which is going to be absolutely soul shattering… and a pleasure to listen to!
Norwegian producer Todd Terje recently dropped ‘Delorean Dynamite’ as a preview of his upcoming album “It’s Album Time” which will be released on April 7th. 20 days down and the track already has around 10 k likes… and for all the good reasons! It represents a new wave of disco that’s comparatively quite dark and spacey. Rapid synths and banging beats make up the essence of what some like to call this ‘Space Disco.’ I, however, like to call it futuristic synth disco because the result is a futuristic vibe that is perfect for late night drives and video game nights!
When this track came in while listening to Fitz’ podcast for Getting Deeper, I went way beyond an already established state of being mind blown. Pacifico’s remix of Goldroom’s ‘Embrace’ is one of the best tracks I have discovered in the last year. Passionate, explosive and at the same time sensual, ‘Embrace’ is going to make you explode inside out with its dreamy synths, rapid 80’s style disco and sparkling sounds. The track represents everything that has ever contained pure, human passion. You will be instantly transported into a divine and electric dimension of pure pink happiness.
